Welcome to Delta Mills
United Methodist Church!

We are a semi-rural church located on the northwest side of Lansing, MI in Delta Township.

Our church has been in the Delta Mills community since 1887.

In 2021 we completed an expansion of our facility and the addition of a second parking lot.

We offer a traditional worship service.

We are a friendly and welcoming church.

Our congregation spans several generations from ages 7 to 90+.

We are an inclusive congregation. Everyone is welcome!

Our Core Values

We are a community of believers, called by God to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We welcome people of all ages, regardless of race, economic status or sexual orientation.

Our core values are these:

  • Love God and love our neighbors.

  • Provide a traditional worship service that allows individuals to connect with God.

  • Support each other and our community with our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our positive witness to others.

  • Support mission activities and missionaries locally, and beyond.

Worship Service

We offer a traditional worship service that begins at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays and lasts about an hour. Dress is casual. A member of our congregation begins the service with announcements. Responsive readings and prayers are printed in our bulletin. Each Sunday we have multiple scripture readings and a sermon. We share prayer concerns and our pastor leads us in prayer. And, we sing! Hymns are from The United Methodist Hymnal and The Faith We Sing hymnal.

About Pastor Kayla

Pastor Kayla was appointed to Delta Mills July 1, 2025, as a two-point charge with Grand Ledge First United Methodist Church. She grew up at Gordonville UMC where she led Sunday School, Youth Group, participated in Lay Speaking Ministries and served on many committees. In her younger years she was involved with the Chrysalis and Emmaus Communities. She also served on staff at Camp Kinawind, a former Detroit Conference Camp. While completing her undergrad degree in Banking, Finance & Management from Northwood University, I held a co-op position at Dow Chemical that led to a full time Dow position until August 2014 when she left to go to seminary at Garrett Evangelical-Theological Seminary while serving as the Director of Discipleship and Family Ministries at Coleman Faith UMC. As a fresh young adult, she was active in the former Saginaw Bay District TASC (Training and Supporting Congregations) Force, a group of lay and clergy who worked with congregations to build effective committees for their ministries, empowering laity to lead the church and fulfill the call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. In recent years, her experience during the 2017 and 2020 flooding of the Great Lakes Bay Region, and being evacuated during the dam breach in 2020 from the parsonage in Freeland, she has taken an interest in Disaster Response Ministries. She serves on the board of After the Storm (https://afterthestormmi.org/), a spin-off non-profit of the Michigan Conference of the UMC. They deploy UMCOR, FEMA and other community resources through case management, helping survivors find their new normal. Since July of 2023, she also serves as the interim Co-Conference Disaster Response Coordinator. While most of her “sporting” days are over, activities such as camping, biking, and paddling through conference camping ministries continue to be an important aspect of nourishment and ministry.
